Touch tanks
The touch tanks are one of the most interesting experiences of the Interactive Aquarium Cancun because you can discover, learn and interact with many different species such as rays and echinoderms like starfish and sea urchins.
Meet our fish species
The experience at the Interactive Aquarium Cancún begins with the observation of our variety of fish species, from both freshwater and saltwater ecosystems. The fish tank area has 1,195 specimens of 140 different species. Here you can find some exotic species and others that are native to Cancun.
Dolphin presentation (postponed)
Be part of the only presentation of marine mammals in Cancun. You can learn more about these species with the guidance of our Animal Care Specialists while having fun with your family and friends.
Ipad zone
In this area you will find fun and educational apps through which you can play and learn about the species and the troubles they have to face. Interact and learn!
Marine mammals represent a family of vertebrate animals that is very diverse in terms of shape, structure and adaptation. This includes cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises), sirenia (manatees) and certain carnivores such as pinnipeds (seals and sea lions, among others), polar bears and sea otters.
At the Interactive Aquarium Cancun you can watch and interact with two marine mammal species:
The bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus)
The bottlenose dolphin is just one of 37 species of dolphins (Delphinidae family). It is found in temperate and tropical waters around the world and lives in coastal and open water ecosystems, as well as in estuaries and, occasionally, in rivers.
Sea lion (Otaria flavescens)
They are mammals with certain adaptations that allow them to come ashore to procreate. They are carnivorous and move around using their forelimbs, unlike seals.
